How about that eclipse, y’all? It’s the calm before the storm at the library. After so many events, both in the library and around town, we welcome a bit of a slow down before things ramp up again for the upcoming holidays.
Anime night is upon us. This Thursday, Oct. 19, Anime night will begin at 4:30 p.m. It takes place in the downstairs meeting room on the third Thursday of every month. All you need to do is get cozy and come our way, as snacks and anime will be provided.
Have you read a book or watched a movie or show created by Neil Gaiman? Interested in learning more about him and his creative process? Join us Friday, Oct. 20, at 6 p.m. for a Neil Gaiman Watch Party. Scranton Library in Connecticut will be hosting the event live and they, along with Gaiman, have generously offered to host a livestream of the event so more people may participate. If you are interested, come join us downstairs.
Our second out of four Lunch & Learns, hosted by Texas A&M Agrilife Extension, will take place on Monday, Oct. 23, at 12:15 p.m. Join us to learn about healthy food choices, gain confidence to cook healthy means, practice cooking, get handy kitchen tools, and more. Please call us to reserve a spot.
On Tuesday, Oct. 24, come join us for Adult Computer Class. In a time when technology is becoming increasingly more integrated and integral to our lives, it is more important than ever to have the skills to navigate computers and technology surrounding them. Our director will lead the class in learning and developing skills surrounding computers. The class will start at 4 p.m.
Save the date and mark your calendars for Oct. 31. It’s Nightmare on Maple Street! The library will be giving books to trick-or-treaters at the annual Halloween event, so don your costumes and bring your little ones by for some Halloween library goodies.
Election Day is rapidly approaching. Feel informed and confident in your choices as you walk into the poll booth. Voter’s guides created by Texas League of Women Voters are available at the library. We can also email you the file. To find it on your own computer, go to lwvhillcountrytexas.org/bandera-county, click on “Document library-LWV nonpartisan voter guides,” click the “Voter Education” folder, then “2023 Voter Guide.”
Bandera Kronkosky Public Library is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available for checkouts and business services. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7.
