Second annual Socks for Seniors and Toys for Tots drives hosted by Boys & Girls Clubs of Bandera County
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Bandera County hosted the second annual Toys for Tots and Socks for Seniors drives, and achieved phenomenal success.
“All the people involved in the Christmas big gift giveaway, and all proceeds made from the sponsors and events help fund everything,” Joseph Tharp, with the Boys & Girls Clubs said.
Tharp said toys came in from drives at the Bandera Brewery, toy donation boxes at 36 local businesses, numerous churches, grants, sponsorships, and private donors. For the Socks for Seniors program, socks and throws were collected for Meals on Wheels recipients, who need help for Christmas. Tharp said the Riding on Faith Rodeo and the Humpday Hulligans collected more than $4,000 worth of toys and socks for the drives.
“This will be an on going annual event every year and I plan on making it bigger every year,” Tharp said. “Thank you to all the barrel racers, thank you Bandera, Texas, the Cowboy Capital of the World, for all your donations and for helping us do this for the children and seniors of Bandera County.”
