The latest at the Bandera Library

By Mauri Guillén Fagan
Bandera Library Director

I’ve heard it said you can be unhappy before eating a cookie, and you can be unhappy after eating a cookie, but you’ll never be sad while eating a cookie. Let your inner cookie monster out and join us Thursday, Dec. 21, from 1 - 3 p.m., when we will be hosting the Bandera High School Student Council for a cookie decorating event here at the library. This special Storytime will be extra festive and extra sweet. We hope you can bring yourself and your littles for singing, crafting and decorating cookies. After all, C is for cookie, and that’s good enough for me.
The hustle and bustle of the season doesn’t mean you shouldn’t have access to a good book. The library’s elves, I mean staff, are ready with plenty of Christmasey themed books and movies. Be sure to keep tabs on our holiday hours though. We will be closed for Christmas beginning Saturday, Dec. 23, and will reopen on Wednesday, Dec. 27. On behalf of everyone here at the Bandera Library, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and Happy Holidays! We hope that your holiday is full of good cheer.
After Christmas until the New Year we will have a pause on library programming. Private groups that meet here may continue their normal scheduling. If you have any questions, please give the library a call. Or as always, you can check the library’s website and social media for updates.
The next time you are in the library, be sure to take a good look around the computer terminals! Thanks to a grant from the Gnade Trust, we were able to purchase new, more comfortable chairs for our public access computers.
Bandera Kronkosky Public Library is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Curbside service is available upon request. Free Wi-Fi is available 24/7. Stay up to date with library events by following us on social media (@BanderaLibrary), or sign up for our monthly newsletter through our website at www.banderalibrary.org.
Happy tales, y’all.
