Medina Lady Cat and Bobcat basketball posted a stellar night against the rival Rockcrushers from Knippa on Friday, Jan. 26. The night began with a Junior Varsity boys victory by a score of 30-27.
Next, the Lady Cats took to the court and put on a great team performance. Strong defensive play held the Lady Crushers to just 19 points, while Medina put 48 points on the board to secure the victory.
The Bobcats were the last scheduled game of the night. Medina was looking for revenge after a 6-point loss in Knippa earlier in the season, and they did not disappoint the home fans. The contest was a back and forth battle for the full forty minutes with the Bobcats securing the win in the final seconds by a score of 58-55.
“It was a hard fought win, that I believe was just as big for our locker room morale as it was for our standing in district play” Bobcat Head Coach Cole Brown said. “I’m extremely proud of the effort our boys showed.”
