Segura set to begin SA All-Star practices in advance of Sunday's game

Bandera senior center Isaac Segura is set to compete in the first annual San Antonio Sports All-Star basketball game on Sunday, March 24, at Northside Sports Gym.
Segura, who helped anchor the Bulldogs’ defense each of the last two seasons, was a second team all-district selection in a loaded District 27-4A this year after averaging 6.1 points and 5.5 rebounds per game.
“We are really excited to see Isaac compete,” Bandera Head Coach Brady Keane said. “He put in a lot of work over the last four years to earn this recognition and the opportunity to play at this level, and it will be fun to see him go up against some of the best competition in the area. We will be there cheering him on, and hope to have a big crowd of Bulldog fans doing the same!”
Segura will play on Team Gold for TMI coach Bruce Bowen, who spent 13 years in the NBA and played for the San Antonio Spurs from 2001 to 2009. Bowen has been the head coach at TMI since 2021, with a record of 60-24.
Segura’s teammates include Boerne’s Sam Holland, Canyon Lake’s Mario Aguilar, Central Catholic’s Raymond Martin, Cole’s James Livingston, Davenport’s Carson Bloess, Fox Tech’s Amaryon Thompson, Kennedy’s George Montes De Oca, Natalia’s Jordan Roberts, Pearall’s Leon Martinez, Randolph’s Noah Green, Sabinal’s Joseph Contreras, St. Anthony’s Dylan Deleon, St. John Paul II’s Ricky Cortinas, and TMI’s Ojani Bowen.
Team Gold will compete against Team Black, coached by Antonian’s Rudy Bernal.
Segura and the rest of Team Gold will begin practice in preparation for the All-Star Game on Wednesday March 20. Practice will continue through the remainder of the week, and the teams will compete at Northside Sports Gym at 2:00 pm Sunday.
