Lakehills library honors long-time board members

Three Lakehills Area Library board members were honored for their years of dedicated service in a ceremony, on June 23, at the library. Ellen Johnston, Estella Hicks, and Gerry Fitzgerald were given certificates designating them as Directors Emeritus.
Johnston has been on the board for 10 years; Hicks served 16 years; and Fitzgerald attended for 12 years. Fitzgerald is famous for his “Gerry’s Chicken Spaghetti.” Hicks is also an artist and a quilter; her work is currently on display in the library.
At the gathering of two dozen library patrons, the honorees were gifted with a boutonniere and two corsages. All enjoyed the refreshments of cheese, fruit and finger sandwiches.
