Numerous roads and low water crossings were closed yesterday after heavy rains led to flash flooding throughout the county. Some areas in Pipe Creek reported up to nine inches of water, while Bandera reported between six and seven inches during the Tuesday morning deluge. Medina Lake rose three feet, this morning’s mean water level is 973.49 feet.
Pioneer RV guests were evacuated to Bandera Middle and High Schools, and kids at the Boys and Girls Club Bandera campus were relocated to the middle school gym.
This morning, roads closed include:
Peaceful Valley due to debris removal
English Crossing at the crossing due to construction
A surge of water received north of Bandera County is reportedly flowing downstream, which could cause more swelling in local creeks and rivers. Motorists are urged to not attempt crossing any flooded areas or barricaded roads and bridges.
