National Day of the American Cowboy celebrated in Bandera style

More than 6,000 people attended Bandera’s National Day of the American Cowboy celebration, a promising figure for its inaugural presentation at Mansfield Park.
NDAC attendance was difficult to tally in years past, Bandera Business Association President Arlene Guerra said, because it was held on the courthouse lawn. The traditional family-friendly events were featured both in and alongside the arena, including kids’ activities, arts and crafts, vendors and live performances.
Later Saturday evening, the Riding on Faith Rodeo kicked off with an impressive lineup of bullriders, bronc riders, barrel racers and ropers.
Guerra said plans are underway to add more live performances in the arena next year, and to grow the fundraiser bigger than ever.
“It was fun, and it was very successful,” Guerra said.
