More than 700 students received what they needed for the new school year on Saturday, during the sixth annual Back to School Bash.
Including volunteers and vendors, an estimated 1,420 people walked the grounds of the Lakehills Community Center, where shoes, clothes, school supplies, hair cuts and more were provided free to families as they prepare for the 2024-25 school year.
“Amazing volunteers! Amazing vendors! Amazing donors! Lots of happy kids and families!,” Event Coordinator Kelly Beedle, of the Hill Country Samaritans, said. “Praise God!”
The first day of school for Bandera ISD is tomorrow, Tuesday, Aug. 6; Pipe Creek Christian School begins classes on Monday, Aug. 12; Medina ISD starts Wednesday, Aug. 14.
The statewide tax-free weekend for school supplies and clothes will be Friday, Aug. 9 to Sunday, Aug. 11.
