Lakehills Library Leanings

The September Book Sale will take place on Saturday, Sept. 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Pre-School Story Time will resume on Wednesday, Sept. 4, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The library director is taking a break during August.
The library is sponsoring “Funding by the Foot,” a community walking track fundraiser, to provide a long-lasting walking surface for our community. Contact the library for more information.
To celebrate National Breastfeeding Month, the library is hosting a free community event, an Open House, on Monday, Aug. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All are welcome to stop by and learn about the health benefits of nursing your baby. The BYOB (Bring Your Own Book) Book Club, will meet Tuesday, Aug. 13, 1 - 2 p.m. A book highly recommended at the July meeting was “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” by Barbara Robinson. All are welcome to discuss all things bookish.
The Evening Book Club will meet Tuesday, Aug. 27, at 5:30 p.m. They will discuss “The Light of Luna Park” by Addison Armstrong, as well as other books members have read.
The Board will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 14, at 4:30 p.m. The public is welcome.
The Benefits Enrollment Center will be available Wednesday, Aug. 14, 10 a.m. to noon. Sponsored by Silver Sage and the National Council on Aging, they provide application assistance for those over 65 or disabled.
The Garden Club will meet on Saturday, Aug. 24, at 11 a.m., in the library’s Reference Room.
The library is hosting Community Conversation, on Aug. 12 and 28, at 10:30 a.m. They would like to get feedback and suggestions on areas of interest and improvement from the public. The events will be held in the meeting room; coffee and doughnuts will be provided.
The library will close Saturday, Aug. 31 through Monday, Sept. 2 in observance of Labor Day.
