The Bandera girls cross country program continued to challenge itself in early-season competition at the New Braunfels Meet Saturday morning, where just two Class 4A or smaller teams finished in front of the Bulldogs at a predominately 5A and 6A meet.
Senior Kierstin Brown led the way for Bandera while newcomer Aubrie Moore, a freshman, finished close behind. Junior Riley LaLanne was third for the Lady Bulldogs, and newcomer’s sophomore Milesia Casas and freshman Kaley Fried rounded out the top five runners.
Other varsity runners included sophomore Merry Robinson, sophomore Xoi Cook, senior Jazlynn Dickerson, junior Lori King and freshman Addison Ashcraft, helping the Bulldogs place seventh overall as a team.
The Lady Bulldogs will be back in action Saturday morning at the Medina Valley Invitational as they look to continue a strong start to the season.
“Our focus moving into this weekend is keeping our 1-5 runners close together in their race,” Head Coach Brooke Ashcraft said. “We also want to improve on continued consistency and confidence with all of our younger runners.”

JV Results
Freshman Mia Ranly led the Bulldogs by placing 14th overall while freshman Ayslyn Goodin was second for Bandera. Senior Lauren Meier, freshman Briley Clark and freshman Emma Rynarzewski rounded out the top 5 for the Bulldogs, while other JV competitors included junior Celeste Martinez, sophomore Mariska Collazo, junior Kylie Minton, sophomore Yamne De La Rosa, sophomore Samantha Carter, junior Rosa Espino, senior Julia Freeman, sophomore Katja Ramirez, freshman Jada Bergfield, sophomore Jazmin Rodriguez and sophomore Amy Rodriguez.
