Sublime rambling

A local friend recently told me she had, as part of her physical exam, a Medical Age Assessment test. Of course, I asked, “What the heck it that?” When she described it to me, I realized that it’s the same thing as the Real Age test I took a couple of times myself.
The first time was fifteen years ago, give or take, when I saw a couple of TV shows touting the benefits of a website called “RealAge.” Supposedly, you answered some questions about yourself and it figured out your real age so you could compare that to your actual, chronological age and learn how to improve your health.
The doctors on two different medical shows recommended it, the Dr. Oz Show and The Doctors Show. So, I went to the website and answered their questions. At the time my Real Age was six years younger than I was chronologically. Yikes! I was six years younger than I thought I was. Too cool.
Then this year I ran across that paper while cleaning out some old files. I had forgotten I even kept it. But it got me curious to see what my Real Age is now in 2024, about fifteen years further down the road of life.
So I attempted to find the website and learned RealAge has sold to ShareCare, Inc., a health and wellness company. However, ShareCare also bought the RealAge test and they still run the questionnaire and many doctors still recommend such assessments as a guide to better health. It’s only available on cell phones and the user must have an account, but it’s free.
So, I opened an account at sharecare.com on my phone, complete with login and password, and I answered their questions. But now my Real Age is only four years younger than my chronological age!
Yikes! I’m catchin’ up to myself.
