Bandera Middle School volleyball takes on Pearsall

By Coach Amanda F. Nelson-Green
Girls Physical Education/Athletics
Bandera Middle School

8th Grade A Team
The 8th Grade A Team, with the help of the crowd surge, put on a tremendous show of serve receive. Your Lady Bulldogs hosted the Pearsall Lady Dogies winning in two sets 25-10 and 25-16. These young ladies stayed open to last minute line up changes and made me so proud.
The energy from the stands was Gracen Spruell and Blu Rollo led in serving aces with 8. Rehnahta Gomez and Elle Vander Zee contributed 6 points each. Elizabeth D'Spain and Maddie Arriola played strong at the net with two kills. Hadley Rogers added 3 digs and Emma McClintock added 2 digs. Cealy Billings led the team with 3 assists. I'm excited to see what this season holds and look forward to a bright future for Bandera volleyball.
When we return from the Labor Day weekend these girls will travel to Carrizo Springs, Wednesday, Sept. 4, to take on the Lady Cats.

8th Grade B Team
The Lady Bulldog 8th grade B team overcame any first-game-of-the-season jitters and beat Pearsall in 2 sets, 25-17 and 25-14.
Kendall Schmidt, Makensie Clay and Bentley O'Donnal served well.  Jasmine Rhodes and Grace Walker were defensive standouts. Overall, the entire team worked well together.

7th Grade A Team
Bandera 7th Grade A Team hosted their first game of the season and won in two sets. Our goal this game was to know where to go on serve receive for each rotation and we completed that. There were a lot of nerves playing in front of the home crowd, but these girls gave their all. We completed our first: pass, set and hit of the season. The girls knew that serving was going to be a big part of our game.
Brenna Bryd led the team in Serving Aces with 5, Emily Short 2, Kaycee Putney 1, Colbie Lalanne 1, and Harper Hicks 1. Each girl played a big part in our win today, and understood putting WE above ME. They have a lot to be proud of with their first win as a Bandera Bulldog.

7th Grade B Team
Bandera 7th grade B Team girls volleyball faced off against Pearsall Monday, Aug. 26, for their first game of the season. With a loss in the first set, the team continued to work together and with their determination, they got their first win of the season.
Natalie Guel and Ashley Mata led the team in serving, each serving 6 each.
