By Lindsey Kunz

The Medina Bobcat cross country runners competed in the Ricardo Gallegos Invitational Meet, at Juan Garcia Park, in Crystal City, on Saturday, Aug. 31.
Through very competitive competition and extreme humid conditions, they performed very well and had some of their fastest times of the season. Ahnika Grassie, Allison Watts and Mia Garcia were all medalists, finishing in the top 15 out of 53 runners. Garcia was our top female runner of the week.
Holland Cook was our top male runner, finishing in the top 10 out of 46 runners, followed by Wes Hill in his first meet of the season.
Our next meet will be Sept. 7, in Bandera. The varsity girls will start the day of races at 8 a.m.
