The Bandera County Sheriff’s Office, county volunteer fire departments, Bandera County EMS, and City of Bandera Marshal’s Office will observe National Night Out on Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 6-8 p.m., at the Bandera County Boys & Girls Club Teen Center.
The community is invited to gather for free food and music, as well as activities, including rescue demonstrations, games and a bouncy house.
Born in Philadelphia, Penn., in 1970, National Night Out was introduced in August of 1984, by a network of law enforcement agencies, neighborhood watch groups, civic groups, state and regional crime prevention associations and volunteers across the U.S. The first annual National Night Out included 2.5 million people in 23 states. Now, 38 million people in 17,000 communities celebrate the annual event, according to the National Association of Town Watch.
