Bandera Middle School volleyball plays hard, but Devine claims the wins

Bandera Middle School
8th Grade A Team
The 8th grade A team started off strong in a tough battle against Devine, losing after 3 sets 25-15, 15-25, 12-15. We had some really great volleyball played by all our girls and all of our hard work is coming together.
We had some strong plays at the net with kills from Elizabeth D'Spain 6, Blu Rollo 2, Gracen Spruell 2, Brooke Montelongo 4, Maddie Arriola 1 and Hadley Rogers 1. Serving Aces: Blu Rollo 5, Brooke Montelongo 4, Hadley Rogers 4, Elizabeth D'Spain 5, Rehnahta Gomez 7, Emma McClintock 1 and Gracen Spruell 10. Our back row had a great game with digging the ball from some hard hitters coming from Elle Vander Zee 5, Blu Rollo 1, Hadley Rogers 2, Brooke Montelongo 5, Emma McClintock 6 and Rehnahta Gomez 3. Assists came from Cealy Billings 3, Blu Rollo 3 and Gracen Spruell 6.
We are setting goals for our next game and that is to maintain control of the game. Our next district game will be on the road to Pearsall, Monday, Sept. 30, as we began our second round of district. Your Lady Bulldogs A teams will be traveling to Medina Valley this weekend in hopes to bring home some hardware in the 2024 Wildcat Volleyball Tournament.
8th Grade B Team
The Bandera Middle School 8th grade B team lost their volleyball game to Devine 28-26 and 25-9. The Lady Bulldogs improved their offensive attacks, but struggled from the serving line and with serve-receive.
Paisley Campbell stood out offensively with several good serves in a row. Kendall Schmidt and Jazmine Rhodes both earned kills in the game. Grace Walker made several good passes. This loss makes the 8th grade B team's record 3 wins and 1 loss.
7th Grade A Team
Bandera 7th grade A team traveled to Devine to take on a good serving team. Bandera lost in two games, but we are starting to transition to the right spots and we are understanding to importance of making a good pass.
Leading servers with aces were Brenna Byrd with 9, Colbie Lalanne with 4, Emily Short 2, Kaycee Putney 2, Harper Hartsfield and Harper Hicks with 1. Top leaders of defense were Brenna Byrd, Harper Hartsfield, and Hailee Feller with 10 digs each.
Our girls will be traveling to Medina Valley on Saturday to compete in a tournament.
7th Grade B Team
The 7th grade B team faced off against Devine resulting in our first loss of the season. Devine came in with strong serving and despite the team effort, we struggled to find our rhythm.
Even with a loss, the team showed heart and resilience. With a learning opportunity, the team remains focused to come back when we face Pearsall next Monday.
