Medina honors seniors

By Lindsey Kunz
Medina ISD Superintendent/Athletic Director

Medina Volleyball honored their seniors on Friday, Oct. 4, before their district match. Seniors walked through the Bobcat tunnel as the crowd was entertained with each athlete’s favorite volleyball memories and future plans. Honorees for the night were Keyshla Roman-Colon, Brooke Mancha, Ella Castillo, Ahnika Grassie, Sienna Carter and Hallie Kunz.
Following the festivities, the Lady Cats took to the court to play district rival Leakey. The game did not disappoint as Medina got on the board first and continued to play aggressively throughout the match to take the win in straight sets by scores of 25-9, 25-14, 25-14.
The Class of 2025 was exceptional in the match with seniors Ella Castillo and Brooke Mancha leading with six kills each while Ahnika Grassie added in four of her own. Classmate Hallie Kunz compiled a team high 25 assists and 4 aces. Sienna Carter passed a perfect 3.0 to aid in the win.
