Voter guides for the November 5 General Election - Information from the League of Women Voters
Voter Guides for the General Election in Bandera County on Tuesday, Nov. 5, are available in printed form at the three libraries in Bandera County and Silver Sage in Bandera. Two voter guides are available: State of Texas published by LWV Texas and Bandera County published by LWV Hill Country. To be an informed voter, please read both voter guides. The League of Women Voters does not endorse or oppose candidates or political parties, but presents candidate responses to questions in the words of the candidate.
The Texas State Voter Guide contains information on the candidates for federal and state offices. This voter guide is produced by the League of Women Voters of Texas, a non-partisan civic organization and is free. The state voter guide is available online. The Bandera County Voter Guide contains information on the candidates for the following: U.S. Congress Texas District 21, State Board of Education District 1, Texas House District 53, Texas 4th Court of Appeals, Bandera County offices, Bandera ISD Board of Trustees, Mayor for City of Bandera, Bandera City Council, and Directors for the Bandera County River Authority and Groundwater District. The Bandera County Voter Guide is produced by the Hill Country League of Women Voters, a non-partisan civic organization and is free. The same Bandera County Voter Guide is available online at the website.
Another option to be an informed voter is to explore VOTE411.org. This website is an online database for voters to read about the election. The website VOTE411.org is sponsored by LWV Hill Country Texas. A voter enters the address on their voter registration card to access a list of elections on their ballot.
Early Voting begins on Monday, Oct. 21, and ends on Friday, Nov. 1, with Election Day on Tuesday, Nov. 5. Early Voting days and hours include times on Saturday, Oct. 26 and Sunday, Oct. 27.
Consult the Bandera County Voter Guide or the Bandera County Elections website for information. If a voter wants to verify the details of their voter registration, use the website provided by the State of Texas: www.VoteTexas.gov.
To check voter ability to vote in a specific election, refer to the right-hand side of the yellow voter registration card.
The last day to request a ballot to vote by mail is Friday, Oct. 25. This deadline is described in the Texas Election Code with the actual date set by the Texas Secretary of State. The application is available at the Bandera County Election Department website and can be printed out, completed with the voter signature, and mailed to the Bandera County Election Department P.O. Box 1882 Bandera, TX 78003 OR taken to the Election Department in the office of the Bandera County Tax Assessor-Collector at 403 12th Street in Bandera. The application form is available at the Election Department.
