Bandera High School graduate performs at the University of North Texas
Sierra (Pepper) Visser, currently a sophomore at the University of North Texas in Denton, performed last week in her first Departmental this semester, singing “Con amores la mi madre.”
Visser started her singing at Hill Country Elementary in Pipe Creek, singing in every talent show and then in choirs at Bandera Middle school and Bandera High School. She was also the drum major for the Bandera Bulldog Marching Band her junior and senior years. She is a 2023 graduate of Bandera High School, and will be majoring in Vocal Performance.
The translated lyrics for the piece she sang, "Con amores la mi madre,” are: “With love, my mother, With love I fell asleep; So asleep I dreamed What the heart watched, That love consoled me With more good than I deserved. The favor lulled me to sleep What love he gave me with love; gave rest to my pain The faith with which I served him With love, my mother, With love I fell asleep!”
