The Arthur Nagel Community Clinic is thrilled to announce the overwhelming success of its 2024 Cork & Fork, held Saturday, Nov. 9. With a sold-out crowd of 480 attendees at the Farm Country Club Pavilion, the event grossed an impressive $150,000, setting a record and achieving a 30 percent increase in contributed revenue compared to the 2023 event.
“This was our most successful fundraising special event ever,” Nagel Clinic Executive Director Chuck Lutke said. “We are grateful beyond words for the generosity of our community, sponsors, and guests who continue to support the essential health care services we provide to Bandera’s uninsured families.”
Cork & Fork annually salutes our nation’s veterans and bestows the Hometown Hero Award to a deserving community figure. This year saw two awards given to heralded music business legends, Arkey Blue and James McGroarty, for their outstanding contributions to Bandera’s economy and cowboy culture.
Jastra Enterprises, a presenting sponsor of the evening, donated for raffle a beautifully restored 1928 Model A Ford Tudor Hardtop. The winning raffle ticket was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Simmons. Guests were treated to a gourmet dinner provided by the Backyard Bistro, a stirring patriotic salute by young students in the Boerne High School Band, and rousing honky-tonk music, supporting the theme of the night, from returning popular headliner Weldon Henson.
Proceeds from the event will help fund the Clinic’s $2.5 million annual operating needs. The 2025 Cork & Fork is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 15, and tickets will be available Aug. 1.
