Senior Assistance Program food distribution set for next Thursday
The next Senior Assistance Program food distribution is Thursday, Dec. 5, from noon to 1:30 p.m., at The Way Church, 7789 FM 1283.
Alamo RCD Area, Inc., Senior Assistance Program, sponsors the Free Food Pantry every month. First come, first served and supplies are limited. Each applicant must pick up their own, if board permission is not provided.
So far this year Alamo RCD has served 100 families in Bandera County. Each family is considered a blessing and the organization is grateful for all their donors and volunteers.
The next Social Event is Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 11 a.m.
The Fun & Fitness class is Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 10:30 a.m.
The Sassy Granny Art Class is Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 1:30 p.m.
There is no Lunch & Learn Potluck in December.
All programs are held at The Way Church and all exercise, arts/crafts supplies are provided.
Applicants must be 55-plus and reside in Bandera County. A 2024 registration is required and applicants can register at the door or on the website.
Alamo RCD seeks monetary donations for the purchase of food and serves 10 counties in central Texas. Donors can help on the website, alamorcd.org; or by mailing a check to the address on the website. The organization is a 501(c)3 non-profit and all donations are tax deductible.
