Lakehills Library Leanings

The Bandera Prophet

The December Book Sale will be Saturday, Dec. 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The January Book Sale will be Saturday, Jan. 4, 10-2, in the meeting room.
The new group in the library is the Yarn Club, for those who want to learn to crochet, knit, embroider or other hand craft. They will meet every Friday, beginning Dec. 6, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the library meeting room.
The Pre-School Story Time is every Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. to noon.
The BYOB (Bring Your Own Book) Book Club will not meet in December and they wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah. The book recommended in November was “A Statin Free Life” by Dr. Aseem Malhotra, an UK Cardiologist.
The Evening Book Club will not meet in December and wishes all a happy holiday.
The Christian Classic Literary Book Club meets every first and third Friday, at 10 a.m. For more information, call Linda Williams at 830-688-0560.
The Board meeting is Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 4:30 p.m. The public is welcome.
The Benefits Enrollment Center, brought by Silver Sage, will be available Wednesday, Dec. 11, 10 a.m. to Noon, to provide application assistance for those over 65 or disabled.
The annual Community Garage Sale, hosted by the library, was a big success, drawing a large crowd. Many thanks to all who participated and to all who purchased items.
The Garden Club will not meet in December and wishes everyone a happy holiday.
The library will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 24 through Thursday, Dec. 26 for the Christmas Holiday and the staff wishes all a happy and peaceful holiday.
They will also close on Tuesday, Dec. 31, at 2 p.m. and all day Wednesday, Jan. 1, to celebrate the New Year.
The library also hosts an Art in the Library Program and they seek artists of all genres to display their works. Each artist will exhibit for one month. If interested in displaying your art, contact Deb Hicks at [email protected].
The library hosts other events and offers many services, such as faxing, copying, laminating, notary, scanning, free Wifi, DVDs, and interlibrary loans. They also offer ebooks, audio books, and large print books. They offer Genealogy, with access to Ancestry.com.

Their hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
