Junkers For Jesus

The Lakehills United Methodist Church (LUMC) is partnering with Wrench-A-Part, a car salvage yard in San Antonio to create a unique fundraising opportunity for our church. We call it “Junkers For Jesus.”
Do you have an old, junk car or truck lying around your property that someone was going to fix up one day 15 years ago? Would you just like it gone, but don’t want to have to find a truck and trailer, load it up and haul it 50 miles?
We will accept the car (with a title) as a donation to the church. Wrench-a-Part will come to the location of the car and haul it away. If you wish a donation form for tax purposes, we will supply one to you. Wrench-a-Part hauls the vehicle away and hands the church a check for the donation. The vehicle must be located in the 78063 or 78056 area codes.
It's a win-win-win for our community. Get rid of that old junker that’s been rusting away in your yard. Gone with no work on your part but a phone call.
We get a donation and clean up our community.
Vehicles donated must have a title, be accessible (not buried in weeds a quarter mile from a road) and have some parts on them that can be recycled/reused.
The LUMC is currently in great need of donations to keep our mission programs running. We offer a Food for Friends food pantry twice a month to help local families who have experienced food insecurity, we have a Bread of Life meal every Monday evening which feeds an average of 150-200, an after-school care program with meals/ snacks and many others.
