Medina celebrates basketball seniors

By Lindsey Kunz
Medina ISD Superintendent/Athletic Director

Medina celebrated the accomplishments of their senior basketball players and manager on Friday, Jan. 24, before their district matchups with Leakey. Honorees included Ahnika Grassie, Hattie Barton, Hallie Kunz, Keyshla Roman-Colon, Nick Lichtenberg and Charles Baker.
Seniors were each presented a framed jersey poster and basket of goodies from their teammates to commemorate the event.
Two big wins for Medina followed the festivities. Both games stayed close throughout, but the Lady Cats and Bobcats were able to complete the games victorious by scores of 47-33 and 50-37.
“It was a really big win for us. The team came together and played well.  I’m incredibly proud of this group,” Lady Cat Coach Joseph Harlow said. “The win secures a playoff spot for the first time since 2016. That’s certainly something to be excited about.”
