Lakehills Library hosts new artist

The Pre-School Story Time is every Wednesday, 10:30 a.m. to noon.
Lakehills Library Writers Group is a new writers group for those who want to become better writers. They meet the third Tuesday of each month, Feb. 18, from 10:30 to noon, in the library meeting room.  Attendees may bring snacks or drinks. The Yarn Club is for those who want to learn to crochet, knit, embroider or other hand craft. They meet every Friday, from 12:30 to 2 p.m. in the library meeting room.
The Evening Book Club will meet Tuesday, Feb. 25, at 5:30 to discuss “The Last Love Note” by Emma Grey.
The Christian Classic Literary Book Club meets every first and third Friday, Feb. 7 and Feb. 21, 10 to 11:30 a.m. to discuss “The Screwtape Letters” by C. S. Lewis. For more information, call Linda Williams at 830-688-0560.
The Board meeting is Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 4:30 p.m. The public is welcome.
The Benefits Enrollment Center, brought by Silver Sage, will be available Wednesday, Feb. 12, 10 a.m. to Noon, to provide application assistance for those over 65 or disabled.
The Garden Club will meet Saturday, Feb. 15, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The program is free and open to the public. The topic is Designing Gardens, presented by Gary Cooper, Master Gardener.
A Blood Drive will be held on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the library meeting room. Sponsored by American Legion Post 157, Bandera, and presented by South Texas Blood & Tissue, you can receive an e-gift card for your blood donation. The library also hosts an Art in the Library Program and they seek artists of all genres to display their works. Each artist will exhibit for one month. If interested in displaying your art, contact Deb Hicks at [email protected].
Currently artist Cheryl Alexander is exhibiting her works through February. Much of her artwork is available for purchase and the library welcomes the public to view her offerings.
A Mosaic with Sherry Hearn class is coming on Saturday, March 22, which has limited space. The cost is $40 per person. Contact Sherry Hearn at 210-355-6318 for information.
The next Book Sale will be Saturday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The library hosts other events and offers many services, such as faxing, copying, laminating, notary, scanning, free Wifi, DVDs, and interlibrary loans. They also offer ebooks, audio books, and large print books. They offer Genealogy, with access to Ancestry.com.

Their hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
