Fifteen members of the Bandera High School FCCLA traveled to Corpus Christi Jan. 30 to Feb. 1, to attend the Region V Leadership Conference. Our chapter had a clean sweep at the competition.
Amber Sanchez placed 1st in Early Childhood Education; Daniel Mifsud placed 4th in Serving up Success; and Kinzee Sperry, Morgan Sperry and Jacob Tuma placed 5th in Chapter in Review Display. All of these students will advance to the state contest in April. Also competing in STAR events were Juan Cabera, Hailey Barker, Riley Noon and Abby Porter.
Students Kinzee Sperry, Morgan Sperry, Ian Philips, Makayla Andreas, Hazel Cano and Mikey Verhey received gold; Amber Sanchez and Lauren Meier received Silver in FCSA testing. To top it all off, Bandera FCCLA made history with our first ever regional officer Makayla Andreas being elected as the Region V Vice President of Correspondence.
We are so proud of these students and cannot wait to see how they do at state and the rest of the year.
