Bandera Middle School basketball season ends after battle with Devine

Bandera Middle School
8th Grade A Team
Bandera Bulldogs showed incredible resilience in this game, never giving up and staying competitive throughout. We spread out the scoring, with multiple players stepping up offensively. One of the biggest improvements was on defense—our effort and intensity kept us in the game and challenged the Devine, but fell short 16-24.What stood out most was our confidence and trust in each other. Players weren’t afraid to take risks and make plays because they knew their teammates had their backs. This teamwork and growth were key takeaways from our season. As their coach, I couldn’t be prouder to watch these athletes grow and develop at the high school level. Their hard work, dedication, and team-first mentality continue to impress, and I’m excited to see what’s ahead
8th Grade B Team
The 8th grade girls basketball B team lost to Devine 14 to 28. The Lady Dogs started out in a deficit by 6 points in the first quarter. They were able to narrow the gap in the third quarter, but could not close out in the final minutes of the game. Jazmine Rhodes and Brylee Philips lead the Bulldogs in rebounds. Kamilla Vasquez had 5 blocks and 5 steals. Kendall Schmitt had a great game, scoring 4 points. This loss ends the B team's record at 4 wins and 6 losses for the season.
7th Grade A-Team
The 7th Grade A-Team ended the season with a loss to Devine, 35-9. The girls worked hard all season and ended with a record of 4-4. Stat Leaders: Brenna Bryd- 1 rebound. Harper Hicks- 2 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 steal. Harper Hartsfield- 2 rebounds, 2 blocks and 4 steals. June Flowers- 5 rebounds. Colbie LaLanne- 1 point, 3 rebounds, and 3 steals. Karina Young- 2 points,and 1 rebound. Vannessa Gonzales- 4 rebounds, and 1 steal. Olivia Lane- 1 rebound and 1 steal. Sydney Bowman- 2 rebounds. Hailey Feller 1 steal
7th Grade B-Team
The 7th grade B-Team lost to Devine, 25-9 last Thursday. They complete the season with a record of 3-5. Stat Leaders: Aspen Collazo- 1 points, 1 rebounds, 9 steals and 2 blocks. Kaycee Putney- 2 steals, 1 block and 2 rebounds. Hayley Capps- 2 rebounds, 1 block and 1 steal. Avery Dehart- 1 steal and 3 rebounds. Mika Gray- 2 points, 2 rebounds and 1 block. Emily Short- 4 points, 2 steals and 4 rebounds. Sally King- 1 block and 1 steal. Olivia Rynarzewski- 1 rebound
