The Hill Country Samaritans is hosting the annual Fundraiser, their popular Lasagna Dinner, which includes garlic bread, salad and brownie, on Friday, March 7, between 5 and 6:30 p.m.
It is drive through only and the food must be picked up, and there are two locations from which to choose: Lakehills Baptist Church, 155 Laurel Vista Dr., Lakehills; or Gateway Fellowship Church, 151 Purple Sage Rd., Bandera.
The accompanying flyer has a QR code, which can be used to pay $12 per plate; or payment can be made by going to the website at hillcountrysamaritans.org/lasagna-fundraiser or by calling 832-444-8256. Orders must be placed by Feb. 28, so the cooks will know how many to prepare.
The Hill Country Samaritans are the group that sponsors the annual Back to School Bash, partnering with the Bandera Independent School District, providing so many services for all the school age kiddos in Bandera County. They are also the people who bring Bethlehem to life every December in the annual Walk Through Bethlehem, which had 800 visitors in 2024. In addition, they feed close to 400 people every year at Thanksgiving in the Lakehills Community Center, so that no one has to eat alone.
They sponsor the Community Choir, which features Christmas carols each year and they provide gifts to all the high school seniors at graduation.
There is never any charge to the public for these events.
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization it is made up of volunteers and all funds go to the programs to serve our community. All are welcome to serve with them and all donations are gratefully accepted.
Their motto is “Loving Christ and Serving Others” and the volunteers are both secular and from various churches.
To volunteer or get more information, go to the website, hillcountrysamaritans.org or call 210-818-3519 and follow on Facebook.
