The Bandera boys golf team finished up a season-best round at the Vaaler Creek Golf Club in Blanco Tuesday, battling through tough weather conditions to post a team score of 365.
The Bulldogs finished ahead of district rival Canyon Lake.
Preston Tuma led the way while shooting an 82, and Maverick Jones was the second finisher with a 93. Breydan Franklin (94), Levi Mott (96) and Wynandt Pollabauer (97) rounded out the top five for Bandera.
The Bulldogs finished 14th overall as a team in a loaded field as Pleasanton (296), Fredericksburg (303) and Devine (312) took the top three team positions. Davenport’s Kyle Doolittle (66) finished first individually, followed by Pleasanton’s Zane Rodriguez (68) and Fredericksburg’s Lewie Melton (70).
The Bandera girls golf team had its tournament in Blanco canceled Wednesday due to the poor weather conditions that began to roll in during the boys tournament. Both the boys and girls golf teams will be back in action in Wimberley next week, with the girls set to compete on Feb. 27, and the boys teeing off on Feb. 28.
