League of Women Voters - Hill Country Texas hosts March program
The League of Women Voters of the Hill Country Texas, will host "Moving Forward Together! Women Educating & Inspiring Generations,” on Saturday, March 15.
League meetings are open to the public: visitors are welcome and there is no charge to attend. The meeting will be held at the Llano County Historical Museum, at 310 Bessemer Avenue in Llano.
A social time for members and guests and visitors to get acquainted will begin at 9:30 a.m., with light refreshments. The business meeting and the program will begin at 10 a.m. If interested, but unable to attend in person, the meeting is available on Zoom by contacting the League at [email protected].
The program will be presented by Sarah Freymann Fontenot, a nurse and a lawyer who has lived in the Hill Country for more than 30 years and is now retired. She taught health law to graduate students at Trinity University who were earning a master's degree in healthcare administration for 26 years. Sarah has served on national organization boards, such the American Hospital Association Board of Governance, and nine years on the board at Peterson Health in Kerrville. Currently, she is active on the board for Leadership Women, which has empowered women leaders in Texas for 44 years, and is relevant to Women's History Month and the topic of the meeting.
The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan and nonprofit civic organization encouraging informed and active participation in government and does not endorse or oppose candidates for elected office. Anyone 16 and older may become a member by paying the annual dues. The Hill Country Texas League serves six counties: Bandera, Blanco, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, and Llano.
