Bobcats and Lady Cats stay perfect in district play

Bobcat baseball and Lady Cat softball both continue to dominate district play for the 2025 season. The Bobcats defeated the visiting Menard Yellow Jackets on Tuesday, March 25, by a score of 15-5. Medina was led by shortstop Davis Peterson, who went 5 for 5 at the plate bringing in 3 runs. Cooper Arnold and Ty Jones added in 2 hits each with Jones increasing the scoreboard by 2 runs on his hits. Holland Cook earned the win on the mound while helping his cause with 2 RBIs of his own. The win moves the Bobcats to 2-0 in district play.
The Lady Cats improved to 3-0 in their own district play with a 22-1 victory in Menard on Friday, March 28. Hallie Kunz put 4 hits, 6 RBIs and 3 stolen bases in the scorebook to lead the offense. Audrey Gatlin added in her own 4 hits, while teammates Brooke Mancha and Ahnika Grassie expanded the Lady Cat lead with 4 and 3 stolen bases respectively. Hattie Barton was the winning pitcher earning 5 strikeouts in the contest.
In non-district action, the Bobcats shut out the Hawks from Our Lady of the Hills School-Kerrville on Friday, March 28, by a score of 12-0. JT Kunz, Davis Peterson and Nathan Jilek each recorded a hit in the outing with Kunz leading in runs batted in with 3. Holland Cook, Kunz and Ty Jones each stole 2 bases to aid the offensive attack. Ty Jones struck out 6 batters in just two innings of work to earn the win. Jilek and Kunz came in in relief and both pitched scoreless innings for the Bobcats.
