The Cecelians sing for the Feast of St. Stanislaus

The Bandera Prophet
The outstanding Cecelian Choir, from St. Stanislaus Church, prepared a special collection of songs for mass on the feast of St. Stanislaus—the patron saint of the church. On April 11, during the midday mass, parishioners were presented with brilliant singing, accompanied by flautists, a guitarist, a trumpet player, and a pianist. "St. Stanislaus" himself attended mass and later posed with the choir.

Why St. Stanislaus?
The Polish sister-city of Bandera—Strzelce Opolskie (known as Gross Strehlitz until 1945) is the ancestral home to a number of Bandera families. This city is a mere 85 miles from Kraków—the city where St. Stanislaus served as a bishop and was martyred. These early immigrants of Bandera likely had a great devotion to the deeply-admired saint who had lived so close to their home, and so chose his patronage for their new church in Bandera.
