Medina UIL places at district competition

Medina’s UIL students placed in District, with Laysha Roman, Riley Perkins and Emma Nordlander advancing to Regional UIL competition on April 25.

The results of District are as follows:
- Copy Editing: Laysha Roman - 4th Place
- Feature Writing: Laysha Roman - 4th Place
- Informative Speaking: Amelia Flores - 5th Place
- Literary Criticism: Laysha Roman - 2nd Place; Audrey Gatlin - 6th Place; Roman, Gatlin and Sahira Porlouis - 2nd Place Team
- Mathematics: Riley Perkins - 3rd Place
- Persuasive Speaking: Sophia Harms - 5th Place
- Poetry Interpretation: Sienna Carter - 5th Place
- Spelling: Emma Nordlander - 2nd Place; Sienna Carter - 4th Place; Nordlander, Carter, Sahira Porlouis and Brooke Manca - 2nd Place Team
- Science: Riley Perkins - 3rd Place and Biology Top Score; Perkins, Riley Patton, Uri Ayers and Mia Garcia - 2nd Place Team
- Journalism Team: Laysha Roman - 3rd Place; Keyshia Roman, Lily Voight, Hallie Kunz, Brooke Mancha and Rachel Devora - 3rd Place
- Speech Team: Amelia Flores and Sophia Harms - 2nd Place
