Bandera freshman Isabella Pace capped off a historic freshman season at the 2025 UIL Class 4A State Golf Tournament last week at the Legends Golf Course in Kingsland, placing 29th out of 72 competitors.
Pace, believed to be the first Bandera female student in school history to compete at the state golf tournament, shot an 81 on Day 1 and an 86 on Day 2 to finish with a two-round 167.
“This season was a lot of fun,” Golf Coach Cody Carruthers said. “Bella showed a lot of poise through some tough breaks at the state tournament and really competed on a tough course in a high-pressure environment. Her future is incredibly bright.”
Pace ranked fifth among freshmen at the state tournament, finishing behind Springtown’s Dixie Crain, Davenport’s Riley White and Alyssa Lester and Caris Colwick from Glen Rose.
“To be one of the top freshmen in the state says a lot about the kind of competitor she is,” Carruthers said. “She’s already made history, and now she has three more years to build on it.”
Pace will have three years remaining in the golf program with Coach Carruthers, with a goal of continuing to improve at the state tournament throughout her high school career.
“This was a great stepping stone,” Carruthers said. “She’s motivated to get back to state and finish even higher. I am excited to see where her work ethic and talent take her next.”
