Bandera ISD launches construction of safety vestibules and ADA upgrades

Bandera ISD has launched the construction of security vestibules at campuses across the district—an important step forward in enhancing school safety and accessibility for all.
What is a safety vestibule?
A safety vestibule is a secure, controlled entry point at the front entrance of a school. It serves as a welcoming space where visitors are greeted and checked in before gaining access to the rest of the building. It is an extra layer of security that supports safer learning environments, while still maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for parents, guardians and guests.
All new vestibules will be Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant, ensuring that individuals with disabilities can access these areas with ease. In addition, Bandera High School will receive an important accessibility upgrade by renovation of a restroom to meet current ADA compliance standards. These improvements will help to ensure that all students, staff and visitors to BISD have access to safe and appropriate facilities.
These updates are part of BISD’s broader mission to provide an environment where every learner can thrive, and reflect an ongoing commitment to student safety, campus security, and equitable access.
