Lakehills Library for July

There will be no Book Sale in July.
The library will be closed on Friday, July 4, and Saturday, July 5, in celebration of Independence Day.
The library is hosting the Medina Dam Exhibit as part of the Smithsonian Institution Museum on Main Street in Bandera. It is the history of Medina Dam, within the Smithsonian’s “Crossroads: Change in Rural America.” This exhibit will run at the library until Saturday, July 26.
Summer Reading for youngsters is going strong every Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. and 1 p.m., and will run through July. The programs for July are: 2nd - “Fireworks” Salt Painting; 9th - Texas A & M Chemistry Roadshow, at Hill Country Elementary lunchroom stage, at 1 p.m. only; 16th - Acrylic Painting, Fish; 23rd - Texas Parks & Wildlife Ranger Medellin; 30th - End of Summer Party at 10:30 a.m. only.
Infant and Toddler Story Time is every Friday morning, at 9:30 a.m., with stories, songs and activities.
Texercise Select is a new class that will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, from July 1 to Sept. 18, 1-2:30 p.m. The class is for adults 60 years and older, teaching fitness through exercise and nutrition. It is a state-wide 10 week program sponsored by AACOG’s Area Agency on Aging. Spots are limited so those who are interested need to sign up now.
Ellen Mast, who exhibited her beautiful quilts in May, has donated a quilt which the library is raffling off at the end of summer reading for the kiddos. The proceeds will go to the library to purchase children’s books. Tickets are $1 each or six for $5 and can be purchased at the front desk. The drawing will be held on Sept. 1.
Garden Club will meet Saturday, July 19, at 11 a.m.
Yarn Club meets every Friday, from 12:30 - 2 p.m., in the library meeting room.
Christian Classic Literary Book Club meets Mondays, July 7 and 21, 10-11:30 a.m.
Benefits Enrollment Center, brought by Silver Sage, will be available Wednesday, July 9, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., to provide application assistance for those over 65 or disabled.
Blood Drive will be held Friday, July 18, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Board meeting is Wednesday, July 9, at 4:30 p.m. The public is welcome.
Evening Book Club will meet Tuesday, June 22, at 5:30 p.m., to discuss “Friends With Secrets” by Christine Gunderson.

Their hours are Monday, Wednesday, Friday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, Thursday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
