Outdoor warning siren test to be conducted
The City of Bandera will conduct a crucial test of outdoor warning sirens on Thursday, July 10, around noon.
“We understand that the recent devastating floods, particularly in Kerr County and along the Guadalupe River, have highlighted the critical importance of effective emergency communication and preparedness. While Bandera County also experienced impacts from these storms, we are committed to ensuring our community is as prepared as possible for any future disaster. This test is a vital step in confirming that our siren system is fully operational and ready to alert residents of an immediate threat, such as a flood or other severe weather,” the City of Bandera posted on its Facebook page.
The siren, which was formerly used to notify the community of emergencies, is located on the water tower behind O.S.T.
What to expect:
- The distinct siren sound for a brief period at approximately noon.
- This is only a test. No action is required.
Once the initial testing is complete, the city will provide citizens more information and protocol.
For questions or concerns, please contact City Hall at 830-796-3765.
