A candlelight vigil was held at dusk on July 19, at Bandera City Park, to honor victims of the devastating July 4 flood. Led by Christopher Dion, the ceremony was held under the park pavilion, which was lined with 37 crosses made with wood collected from the flood zone, dedicated to the children lost.
Following the Posting of the Colors by the American Legion and the National Anthem sung by Jennifer D’Spain, prayers and thoughts were shared while the candles were lit. Gary Cornell concluded the ceremony with an acoustic performance of Tears in Heaven.
A memorial is set up in the 800 block of Guadalupe Street in Kerrville.
