Lady Cats bring home third place honors

By Lindsey Kunz
Medina ISD Superintendent/Athletic Director

The Medina Lady Cats participated in the annual Natalia Tournament Aug. 14-16, and brought home third place honors. On day one, the Lady Cats defeated both Natalia JV and Floresville JV to conclude the day with a 2-0 record.
Saturday’s tournament day two bracketed the Lady Cats against tougher competition, but the Lady Cats would not back down, defeating Knippa in straight sets to earn the third place honor. Senior Audrey Gatlin was a force as the libero and named to the All-Tournament Team.
In other volleyball news, the Lady Cats defeated the Lady Jackets of Sabinal on Tuesday, Aug. 12.
Medina will play in their home opener for the 2025 season on Tuesday, Aug. 19, at 5 p.m., against the Charlotte Lady Trojans.
