Medina begins season with a victory

By Lindsey Kunz
Medina ISD Superintendent/Athletic Director

Medina Bobcats began their football season on the road on Friday, Aug. 29, versus the Hornets from Rochelle. The Bobcats jumped out to the lead 16-0 in the first quarter with two quick touchdowns. The second quarter proved to be a defensive battle for both teams as at halftime the score was still 16-0.
After a halftime speech from their coach, the Bobcats came out with a vengeance. Touchdown and touchdown were scored, and the game was called with 6:31 left in the fourth quarter by six-man mercy rule. Final score: Bobcats 57, Rochelle 8
The Bobcats play their home opener on Friday, Sept. 5, at 7 p.m., versus Bulverde Bracken.
The Lady Cats had their own successful week defeating Charlotte on Tuesday, Aug. 26, by scores of 25-17, 25-14, 25-17. For the weekend, the Lady Cats hosted five other teams in the annual Lady Cat Volleyball Tournament.
