The Art of Back Seat Driving

Hubby tells me I back-seat-drive a lot. Of course, I don't do that. I merely offer valuable suggestions while traveling.
Thinking back on it, I realize I started this very early in life.
When I was very young my parents liked to travel all over the United States. Their theory was to show my brother and me all these wonderful sights, thinking we'd remember them always. In reality, there's a lot we didn't remember because we were so young.
However, I do have a clear memory of one event, when I was about 2 years old. We were all in the car, my folks up front and us kids in the back. In 1948, there were no car seats, and no seat belts, and I was standing up on the back seat, using my arms to lean on the back of the front seat between my parents. We were cruising along the highway and came up behind another car. At first it looked clear up ahead and Dad began to pass the car. When he had pulled completely into the oncoming lane, I saw another car coming towards us. I shouted, "Look out, Daddy, there's a car!"
Mom looked over at me, surprised. Fortunately, Dad continued driving and got around the car he was passing in plenty of time.
Mom recorded what I shouted in my baby book as my first sentence.
So, you see, I started back seat driving quite young and have apparently perfected the art.
