Bandera Cross Country varsity girls place in top third of Steve Golemon Bandera Invitational
On Saturday, Sept. 6, the Bandera High School Cross Country teams competed in their very own 4th annual Steve Golemon Bandera Invitational. The Varsity Girls placed 3rd out of 12 teams with 54 points, only 7 points from 1st behind Fredericksburg.
Sophomore Kaylee Fried led the Lady Bulldogs placing 7th. Other medalists for the Lady Bulldogs were Senior Riley Lalanne 10th, Sophomore Aubrie Moore 11th, Milesia Casas 12th, Xoi Cook 14th. Rounding out the top 7 were Senior Lori King placing 22nd and newcomer Freshman Casi Williams placing 28th.
Other Varsity finishers were: Merry Robinson 37th Taytum Moeller 47th Addison Ashcraft 48th.
The Junior Varsity Girls placed 1st overall with 23 points beating Carrizo Spring with 34 points and Crystal City with 85 points. Sophomore Emma Rynarzewski led the Lady Bulldogs placing 3rd while Freshman Veronica Ibarra placed close behind 5th. Other medalists for the Lady Bulldogs were Sophomore Briley Clark 8th, Sophomore Bella Fazio 10th, Freshman Jayla Hinojo 13th, Freshman Abigail Gilbert 17th, Alivia Pack 19th, and Isabella Saenz 20th.
Other Lady Bulldog finishers were: Mia Ranly 22nd, Jada Bergfield 23rd, Maricel Casas 30th, Samantha Carter 32nd, Aubrey Freeman 33rd, Amy Rodriguez 38th, Yamne DeLaRosa 41st, Paisley Campbell 42nd, Sophia Simons 43rd, Hailey Cantu 46th, Mariska Collazo 47th, Jordyn Tucker 50th, Abigail Sizemore 52nd, Jazmin Rodriguez 54th, Joey Palazios 55th, Kienna Cielenski 57t,h Ayslyn Goodin 59th, Blu Rollo 62nd, Sienna Collazo 66th, Eyza Ibarra 69th.
The Bandera Varsity boys competed hard, placing 9th out of 16 teams, with Zach Goodin leading the way and earning an impressive 7th-place finish with a time of 17:41. Ayden Sarver followed in 42nd, Luciano Martinez placed 51st, and Michael Ramirez, Carter Rissmiller, Cooper Cale, and Adan Sixtos packed it in closely, placing 74th, 76th, 80th, and 88th respectively.
Walter Roque (98th) and Dominic Garcia (108th) rounded out the team's effort in a strong showing of depth and determination.
In the JV Boys race, Tristan Wilson led the Bulldogs with a strong 5th-place finish, clocking in at 21:06. He was followed by Dominic J. Garcia in 37th, Carson Garza in 40th, Marcus Gonzalez in 41st, Ashton Vargas in 42nd, and Aiden McClintock in 43rd, as the JV squad showed tight pack running and solid effort across the board.
The Bandera High School Cross Country teams will be back in action on a couple of weeks at the Hoka McNeil Cross Country meet which is also the place for the State Cross Country Meet.
