Voter 101 session at Lakehills Area Library presented by the League of Women Voters - Hill Country Texas
Heather Farmer, the Civics Education Chair for the Hill Country League of Women Voters, will present up to date information about voting in Bandera County. The session is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 16, from 6 - 7:30 p.m., at the Lakehills Area Library, at 7200 FM 1283, Lakehills. There is no charge to attend and no registration is required.
The Voter 101 session will include the following information about the upcoming election on Nov. 4: Proposed Amendments to the Texas Constitution, Bandera ISD School Board, and Bandera City Council.
Seven topics will be covered: update on election laws; early voting and election day voting; voting by mail; provisional voting; voter registration and becoming a Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR); becoming a poll worker or poll watcher or poll monitor; and voter guides produced by the League of Women Voters.
The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan and non-profit civic organization and does not endorse or oppose candidates for elected office. The Hill Country Texas League has 46 years of serving citizens and has members in six counties in the Hill Country: Bandera, Blanco, Gillespie, Kendall, Kerr, and Llano. The work of the League is focused on registering citizens to vote, providing information on candidates and issues, and encouraging citizens to vote. Anyone aged 16 and older can become a member by paying the annual dues.
