Friday was a great day for Medina athletes

By Lindsey Kunz
Medina ISD Athletics Director/Superintendent

Friday, Sept. 19, the Bobcats and Lady Cats showed their skills to earn JV volleyball, junior high football and high school football victories on the road.
JV Volleyball began the night in LaPryor with a 25-17, 28-26 win over the Lady Bulldogs. Next, the junior high Bobcats made a statement in Runge earning their first win of the season in grand fashion.  After scoring just one touchdown in their first outing of the year, the junior Bobcats amassed 64 points before the final buzzer sounded winning the game 64 to 27.
High school football was next on the schedule. The Bobcats came out with a vengeance, scoring time and time again to complete the game by mercy rule at half. Final score: Medina 64, Runge 0.
The Bobcats are on the road again this week playing in Veribest on Friday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m.  The high school Lady Cats will host D’Hanis on Friday in their first district contest of 2025.
