By Ricardo Mata
Bandera ISD Athletics

The Bandera Middle School Bulldogs took the field for their first game on turf at Bandera High School Stadium, facing off against the Cole Middle School Cougars. The night was filled with energy, effort, and Bulldog pride as all teams brought home impressive victories.

7th Grade B-Team
The B-Team set the tone early and never looked back, defeating the Cougars 22–0. Wyitt King led the way with two touchdowns and a two-point conversion, while Blaise Quintero added a score on a pass from William Volkmer. Owen Cordell capped off the offense with another two-point conversion.
On defense, the Bulldogs dominated, holding Cole scoreless behind strong play from Wyitt King, David Hudson, Hunter Cale, Gaitlin Reaves and Noah Barton.

7th Grade A-Team
The A-Team followed with a tough, defensive battle, shutting out the Cougars 12–0. Branden Delaney broke through for two rushing touchdowns, showcasing his speed and power. The defense was once again the difference, with standout performances from Jett Lagedrost, Ty Heiner and Phoenix Alexander keeping Cole’s offense in check.

8th Grade A-Team
The 8th Grade A-Team capped off the night with an exciting 28–6 victory. Cody McCarthy had a standout performance, scoring three touchdowns and tossing a touchdown pass to Jacob Tetlaff. Connor Popham added two two-point conversions, giving the Bulldogs an extra spark on offense. Defensively, Bandera’s unit swarmed the Cougars with big plays from David Guerra, Daniel Cale, Cody McCarthy, Jace McCarthy, Aaron Esquivel, Torque Hamilton and David Giant, who came up with a fumble recovery.
