Bandera XC competes in Hoka McNeil Invitational

By Brooke Ashcraft
Bandera ISD Assistant Athletic Director

Last Friday, Sept. 19, the Bandera Cross Country teams competed in the Hoka McNeil Invitational. The Lady Bulldogs finished the morning in 18th place as a team out of 48 teams. Junior Milesia Casas led the Lady Bulldogs placing 83rd, while Senior Lori King placed 93rd. Sophomore Kaylee Fried placed 108th, and Seniors Riley Lalanne and Taytum Moeller rounded out the top 5 placing 115th and 116th.
The Bandera Boys Cross Country team had a strong showing this past weekend, led by Zach Goodin, who finished first for the Bulldogs with a time of 18:29. Luciano Martinez had a standout performance, smashing his personal best by 45 seconds with an impressive 19:15. Ayden Sarver and Walter Roque had their best times of the season by getting times 19:39 and 21:42.
The rest of the varsity squad included Cooper Cale, Michael Ramirez, Tristan Wilson, Carter Rissmiller, Dominic Garcia, and Aiden McClintock. For McClintock, it was his first varsity race of the year, and he rose to the occasion by also setting a new personal best.
The Bandera Bulldogs' last race before the district meet is this Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Hill Country Stronger than the Storm Run.
