The Bandera 7th grade B volleyball team lost to Devine in 2 sets - 25 to 23 and 25 to 13. Evangelina Rodriguez led a huge comeback in the first game, serving 5 points in a row. Kendall Jess, Kaiya Raab and Presley Binnert also had strong serving games. Jess, Raab, and Sayla Hayes showed improvement in their serve-receive skills. This loss brings the Bulldog B team's record to 1 win and 3 losses this season.
7TH GRADE A TEAM
The 7th grade A team dropped to Devine Monday night with scores of 25-19 & 25-17. This brings their district record to 0-4 and overall record of 4-4. Key players for the Lady Dogs were Harper Word with 2 aces, 2 assists and 1 dig, Avery Ashcraft with 2 aces and Trenlie Kocurek made some hustle plays in the back row. They look for revenge against Pearsall at home next Monday night, Sept. 29.
8TH GRADE B TEAM
8th Grade B Team took their first loss of the season in a hard-fought match against Devine. From the first serve to the final point, it was a battle on both sides of the net. Devine came ready to play, and they pushed us to compete at a high level throughout the match. Despite the loss, our team showed incredible heart, resilience, and determination. They never gave up—fighting for every ball, every set, and every point until the very end. It’s not the outcome we wanted, but it’s a valuable test that will make us stronger going forward. We’re proud of the grit our girls showed and how they represented our program. Losses like these are part of the journey, and we’ll use it as motivation to keep growing, improving, and coming back even better. On to the next!
8TH GRADE A TEAM
Your Lady Bulldogs played a hard fought battle against Devine losing in 2 close sets, 20-25 and 19-25. The girls worked hard on coverage, getting 3 touches, transitioning, teamwork and playing the GAME. Although not in our favor, I could not be more proud of the exciting night of volleyball these girls portrayed. Highlights of the game are Harper Hartsfield with 1 ace, 3 digs, 1 kill and 5 assists. Natalie Hauer with 3 digs. Haisley Wright and Karina Young each added 1 dig. Sydney Bowman had 7 digs and 1 kill. Hailee Feller contributed 1 ace and 1 kill. Harper Hicks had 2 digs, 2 kills and 1 block. Colbie Lalanne had 2 kills and 4 assists. Emily Short also had 1 dig and 1 kill. Brenna Byrd had 1 ace, 6 digs, 2 kills and 1 assist. Mika Gray also had 2 digs. The girls will face off with the Pearsall Dogies next week on our home court for the start of the second round of district.
