Zeke Enriquez announces for U.S. Congress
Local resident, Zeke Enriquez, has filed to run for U.S. Congress in District 21. CD21 was most recently held by Chip Roy who is now seeking the seat of Texas Attorney General. The Republican Primary Election is slated for March 3, 2026.
Zeke Enriquez has deep roots in TX21. Not only was he born and raised in Hays County, his third great uncle, Jose Policarpo Rodriguez built Polly's Chapel right outside of Bandera. TX21 includes the cities of Bandera, Kerrville, Fredericksburg, New Braunfels and Johnson City, among others.
“My biggest things are securing the border — like actually securing it — physical walls, mass deportations, like President Trump wants,” Enriquez said.
“The Second Amendment — defending it and restoring it back to the way the Founders intended, where ‘shall not be infringed’ means exactly that. Zeke has been endorsed by The AK Guy, Brandon Herrera, and Texas Gun Rights.
On abortion, I’m an abolitionist, so I’d like to work towards a national ban on abortion. ... And lastly, is the economy: we’ve outspent ourselves, and we are out of cans and out of road. So we need to bring back some sanity to our spending — slashing spending, codifying the DOGE cuts, that sort of thing.”
Enriquez enjoyed his time growing up in San Marcos and hopes to make his city proud by serving as a U.S. Congressmen.
San Marcos is also where Enriquez discovered at a young age that he wanted to “serve,” which is one of the biggest reasons he joined the U.S. Marine Corps. That trait was instilled in him early by his San Marcos High School JROTC instructor Colonel Frank Dworaczyk. While in the Marines, Enriquez did a tour in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II, among other deployments. He was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal with Combat V-Device for Valor.
Zeke and his wife raise their two children and a multitude of livestock on their small ranch. They are active in their church ministries, and Zeke also serves as a firefighter with Bandera Fire. You can learn more at zeke4texas.com
