Human remains discovered

Bandera County Sheriff’s Office
On Oct. 17, at approximately 6 p.m., Bandera County deputies responded to a location off of Wharton’s Dock Road in reference to suspected human remains.
Upon arrival, Deputies confirmed human remains were on scene. Bandera County Sheriff’s Office CID investigators and Texas Rangers responded to conduct an initial investigation. Human skeletal remains, as well as multiple pieces of evidence, were recovered which will be sent for forensic processing and identification. All personnel cleared the scene at approximately 8 p.m.
This is an ongoing investigation and no additional information can be provided at this time. There is no threat to the community or the residents in that area. The Bandera County Sheriff’s Office is committed transparency with our citizens and we will provide investigation updates as they become available and releasable.
