Bandera High School Bulldog Band heads to area competition
After an award-winning performance at UIL competition last week, the Bandera High School Bulldog Band is headed to area competition this weekend.
Eight hours of practice each week outside of school hours, and an additional three hours of practice on Fridays culminated in a “superior” rating at UIL. A community send-off will be held Saturday, Oct. 25, at 8 a.m., on Old San Antonio Hwy., by the soccer practice field. Depending on the band’s performance at area, they will head to State Finals on Nov. 5.
As the band has been preparing for area, the Bandera Music Boosters have been preparing to fuel the students by providing breakfast, lunch and dinner for every kid, director and bus driver. Anyone interested in contributing or donating to this effort, call Alex Asbury at 210-887-8456 or email [email protected].
